Notes for self-compilers & packagers
There have been two configure flags introduced to this version of
Gfire:
- --disable-gtk
- This flag can be used to disable any use of GTK within Gfire. This
allows
Gfire to be used by other clients than just Pidgin and to compile it in
environments
where no X-Server should be installed/running (e.g. Finch-only setups).
This basically disables the games manager and the server browser for
now.
- --enable-libnotify
- This flag enables the use of libnotify
notifications instead of some dialog boxes.
conflicts with --disable-gtk
This version also introduces a new games list and game configuration
format.
This means that you will need to update the games list, which is done
automatically after the Gfire update,
and reconfigure your games, which should be much easier now with the new
game manager.
You can install the new version of Gfire over the previous version,
but please have Pidgin closed. When you load up Pidgin, you will have
the latest version of Gfire.
If you find any bugs/errors with the latest version of Gfire, please
submit a bug report on gfireproject.org or at the Gfire forums.
